OMRON-YASKAWA, the European market leader in industrial inverters, announces the launch of the V1000 Compact Inverter series - the world's most dependable inverter and the pinnacle of the highly successful inverter family.
As the market's largest and most trusted supplier of inverters, Omron-Yaskawa is driven by quality and has made a habit of building this into its inverter families. But this quality now has a new formula, 10 x 100 = 1, because the V1000 breaks with all conventions and constraints. The innovative design together with modern manufacturing techniques means that V1000 is designed for 10 years life time maintenance free operation. Moreover, its features and performance guarantee a 100% match with the expectations of users, such as machine builders. Beyond this, a field-failure rate of less than 1 in 10,000 means that it will continue to outperform all other inverters long after the average service-life expectancy is over.
OMRON-YASKAWA's V1000 offers V/f and open loop vector control and allows to drive IM and PM motors. Combined with many new-patented technologies the V1000 offers the well known reliability plus being designed for 10 years of maintenance free operation. The V1000 it is one of the smallest inverter drives in the world and allows even side-by-side mounting through patented heat-sink system which all saves installation space. It has overload capability for normal duty and heavy duty (120%/150%) and dual safety input, safety category 3 (EN954-1) and Stop category 0 (EN60204-1).
Omron-Yaskawa has achieved this new formula for quality and dependable performance by taking enormous strides in design efficiency. Not only has its volume been reduced by up to 40% to save mounting space, the V1000 actually uses 50% fewer mechanical parts than its predecessors. This considerably reduces the risk of component failure.
The V1000 is able to increase the output current by around 20% when moving down in frequency carrier, thanks to its double rating. The standard setting is constant torque (HD: 150% rated current / 1 min) and increasing output current when in the variable torque mode (ND: 120 % rated current / 1 min.).
Unlike any previous inverter, the V1000 delivers optimum speed control and high starting torque thanks to the current vector control. And it is improved even further with a smart on-line tuning feature that takes 'auto-tuning' to a new level. On-line tuning is a method of continuous tuning. It ensures that any temperature deviation large enough to affect electrical parameters governing the motor speed will be adjusted before any variance in speed can occur.
Safety is embedded in the V1000 from the inside out, making it easy to integrate the inverter into a machine system and avoid difficult connections to safety controllers. Dual safety inputs (acc. to EN954-1 Safety Category 3) disconnect the motor faster at the first sign of trouble, while reducing external wiring and contactors.
The innovative motor control technology allows the use of both induction motors (IM) and synchronous motors (PM) with V1000 through its special software. A synchronous motor far surpasses an IM in energy efficiency when operating a compact application. By using a synchronous-motor, the ultimate energy saving and the mechanical miniaturization are possible. This lets customers who wish to use a variety of motor types swap motors in the same system. Naturally the drive is capable of continuous operation after momentary power failure, whatever type of motor is used.
